Play of the Week (You Make the Call)

Situation:

A team shows up to play with white jerseys having red numbers on the front and blue numbers on the back. All other aspects of the numbers are legal (contrasting, size, position).

Are these jerseys legal?

Last Week’s Play (from last season)

Situation:

The server is positioned about three (3) feet from the left sideline in the service zone. The line judge steps laterally, away from the server’s position, and in line with the end line extended in order to view any potential foot fault by the server.
Is this the correct procedure?

Ruling: No. The line judge should be positioned back behind the server (out of his/her peripheral vision) and in line with the sideline. Once the serve is contacted, the LJ should quickly move into his/her normal position on the corner.
