General Guidelines

After each meeting/clinic, all Mentors are to meet with their respective Mentee for at least 10 minutes to discuss softball face-to-face.

Mentees should also call their Mentor at least once every two weeks.  Sunday evening is usually the best time to call.

Discuss games umpired since the last conversation. Mentees should ask detailed questions about mechanics, rule interpretations, or unusual game situations that might have occurred.

All Mentors should keep a detailed log of all phone conversations (number and dates) and observations of their Mentee. This will be used at the Annual Meeting when discussing the possible advancement of these new umpires.
