MROS Meeting Minutes

05/20/07

STEWARD SCHOOL

President Jerry Stone called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m.

The attendance was taken by sign-in sheet.

The minutes were approved as presented on the web site.

Bert Wilson gave the Treasurer’s Report and stated we have $1,930.00 in our account. Two schools have paid their fees and the money was placed in a trust account. His report was approved.

Jerry Stone discussed the recent meeting with the Central Region Athletic Directors. The Athletic Director’s wanted MROS to make a three-year agreement on game fees.

Varsity- $65.00 first year, $70.00 next two years

JV - one man - $80.00, $80.00, $80.00

JV –two man - $60.00 first year, $65.00 next two years

Playoff’s $75.00 first year, $80.00 next two years

Jerry Stone thanked Bert Wilson and Bruce Frye for their efforts regarding this matter.

Bruce Frye gave the Commissioner’s Report. He indicated we had one missed assignment and generally had a good season.

Dickie Foster gave the Interpreter’s Report. He discussed concerns regarding three man mechanics. Reminded play-off umpires to read rulebooks and be prepared for the unexpected.

Jerry Stone turned the meeting over to William Harrison to conduct the election process.

A motion was made by Eddie McFarland to place Thomas Dent on the ballot for President. Jerry Stone indicated that a motion was not necessary and he should be placed on the ballot. William Harrison announced all of the candidates up for election.

Allen Gravatt – At-Large

Joe Yates – Secretary

Mr. Dent and Mr. Stone were given time to make a presentation for election.

Ballots were passed out and members were reminded to write in Thomas Dent’s name if the opted to vote for him as president.

Ballots were collected and counted by Hal Zak and Mary Ellen Mooradian.

Allen Gravatt and John Shepherd witnessed the counting.

Jerry Stone opened the floor for new business.

Dave Hunt thanked the board for having the business meeting in May instead of November.

Bob Provost voiced concerns regarding the meetings being held on weekends during the spring season.

Results of the election were revealed by William Harrison:

At Large – Allen Gravatt

Secretary – Joe Yates

Jerry Stone adjourned the meeting at 7:10 p.m.
