MROS Meeting Minutes

Deep Run Community Center
President
Tom Dent called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m.
Attendance
was taken by sign in sheet.
Bert
Wilson gave the Treasurer’s Report—balance of $2,878.20.
The
minutes from the previous meeting were accepted as presented on the web site.
Commissioner’s
Report:
Be
on standby for more games as the weather has played havoc with the
schedule. Please do evaluations on your
partners. Do not forfeit games if a
coach does not want to continue in bad weather—suspend it and leave the
logistics to the ADs. We will be
meeting with the Bay Rivers District ADs on May 6th. May games will be published tonight.
MAL
Report:
Jackets,
hats and lineup folders will be available for display. John Shepherd went over several items he had
been emailed about. Bob Guagliardo
asked the board to take into consideration Bruce assigning other associations
on the Arbiter.
Election
Committee:
Jeff
Buck reminded everyone that elections will be held in July and that the offices
of President, Secretary and MAL will be up for vote.
Banquet
Committee:
Pat
Maloney reminded everyone that the banquet will be on June 29th at
Italian Kitchen in Mechanicsville.
Please let him know of attendance.
Training
Report:
Dickie
Foster went over three man mechanics on tag ups and leaving the base early
coverage. He went over “leaping” and
reminded us that it is illegal. The
dropped third strike mechanic has been changed again—point down if dropped and
hammer if caught. Reiterated the HBP
and to be alert to the positions of the infielders in the case of a runner
being hit with a batted ball. Please
honor ALL appeals from the coach.
The
meeting was adjourned at 6:54 p.m.
The
next meeting is scheduled for Sunday, May 3, 2009, at 5:30 p.m. at Deep Run
Community Center.
