MROS Meeting Minutes

3/9/08

Deep Run Community Center

President Tom Dent called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.

While roll was taken by sign in sheet, new jackets and shirts were handed out.

The minutes from the previous meeting were accepted as presented on the web site.

Bert Wilson gave the Treasurer’s Report—Balance of $4831.01. The report was accepted as presented.

INTERPRETER’S REPORT:

Dickie Foster went over the following topics.

1. Regular season starts on Tuesday March 11, 2008.

2. Stressed the importance of all umpires being on the “same sheet of music”.

3. Dickie with Jerry Stone’s help went through a series of examples where the proper signals are used. All slots were covered.

OLD BUSINESS:

Jerry amended his previously published amendment to the bylaws and it was passed (29-3) with the changes. The new amendment has been added to our bylaws and is on the website.

BANQUET COMMITTEE:

Pat Maloney’s committee reported that the banquet will be held at the Italian Kitchen in Mechanicsville. It will be buffet style. More information will be forthcoming from the committee.

COMMISSIONER’S REPORT:

Bruce Frye reminded everyone to check the Arbiter frequently.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:10 p.m.

The next meeting is scheduled for Sunday, April 13, 2008, at 5:00 p.m. at Deep Run Community Center.
